First camping trip with the Pop TopI didn’t use the AC unit as the temperature overnight was in the low to mid 70s. I also didn’t put up the TV antenna, being content to watch a Sam Elliot western DVD on the 19” HDTV. I was unsuccessful in getting my charcoal lit using my metal cylinder charcoal starter so I cooked my pork steak in a skillet on the stove inside with black beans and rice warmed up in the microwave. On my next trip, I’ll use old-fashioned charcoal lighter fluid or bring my blow torch. Breakfast was easy, with a Jimmy Dean sausage and egg biscuit in the MW, hot coffee from my single cup brewer and some juice from the icebox (I dind't want to create too much work on a one-night outing). My block of ice was only half gone when I got home. One block (made in the freezer in a dishpan) will last me for a two day trip if I keep the inside temperature below 80 degrees. I used 2” memory foam on my 4” medium density foam cushions and the bed was too firm. The Original Squidget had a 3” memory foam topper pover 4" foam cushions and was very comfortable. I plan to get a 1” topper to put on top of my cushions to give my back a break at night. having to crawl around on the bed to fit the bottom sheet is an inconvenience, but I got'r dun. I found that I didn’t have enough shelves to place items on. I plan on making a shallow shelf over the sink (possibly a fold-up type) that will have a towel rack beneath the shelf for my dish cloth and put some hooks on the walls for towels. I may also put another fold-up shelf on the left side of the microwave cabinet to sit a few things on, including a clock that I can see from the couch or bed. A shallow spice shelf on the right wall above the stove would be helpful too. I had already mounted a paper towel holder above the counter and that was very convenient. One other camper walking by stopped to look at the PT. He made the same comment I've gotten from some viewers of my video, that is that it looks larger inside than it does outside. Maybe I ought to rename it "The Tardis" (Google it if you don't know what it is). Here are a few photos. The only shots of the lake by my trailer were evening sunset photos.
