In 2007, at the age of 68, I finally achieved a lifetime ambition to learn to fly remote control airpanes. A year or so after I learned to fly I decided to build an RC airplane, and decided on a seaplane as an interesting project. I was going to use a Pondmaster plan set I got from a magazine, but I saw other design aspects on different seaplanes, so I created my own design using several of those ideas and made a set of plane using my Visio drawing program. Some of the other seaplanes that influenced my design include the Pondmaster, Sealane and Seamaster.

Although I say that this was a "scratch build", I didn't build the wing. A friend gave me an old 60" wing from an Eagle trainer. It needed to be stripped, reinforced in places, and recovered. But, the rest is all my creation. I named my seaplane the Sea Eagle since it has a wing from an Eagle trainer. So, this is my seaplane build in 2008.
